Clinics and Services

Mountsandel Surgery is contracted to provide a full range of essential and additional general medical services. We also undertake to provide further enhanced services as commissioned by the Northern Health Board. Below are details of core clinics that run throughout the year. Please ask our receptionists for details.

Child Health Screening and Immunisation Clinic
Friday 2.00 - 5.00pm. Your health visitor and doctor provide full child health screening and developmental checks, as well as a full immunisation service. Appointments are automatically sent and will usually come by post.

Regular Check-ups
All patients over the age of 16 and under the age of 75yrs who have neither attended a consultation nor a clinic may request a consultation at the Practice. Please make an appointment through our receptionists.

A yearly medical is offered to all patients over 75 on request.

Antenatal Services
Appointments are available with the midwife on Mondays, Wednesdays (Initial booking appointments only) and Fridays or with a doctor by normal appointment.

Postnatal Clinic
Available by appointment on Wednesday afternoon.

Family Planning
Available by normal surgery appointment with any of the Doctors. For emergency contraception speak to your Doctor or nurse in the surgery or by telephone.

Minor Surgery
Minor surgery may arranged following an appointment with the doctor.

Treatment Room
Appointments are available in the treatment room during opening hours for any of the following. Appointments should be booked in advance.

  • BP check
  • ECG
  • Blood tests
  • Dressings
  • Ear syringing
  • Wound dressings
  • Removal of sutures


The following clinics are also run by specialist practice nurses. Appointments can be booked through reception.

  • Asthma and COPD clinic
  • Diabetic Clinic
  • Coronary Heart Disease and Hypertension clinic 
  • Well woman clinic


Comments
Our aim is to provide an efficient, professional and caring service to our patients. If you have a complaint about any aspect of the practice or about any of the doctors, nurses, health visitors, midwives or reception staff, you can ask to speak confidentially to our practice manager. The practice has an in-house complaints procedure, which the practice manager can explain to you in detail.
